Dr. Philipp Linkens joined Motive Partners in 2023 and is a Principal on the Legal & Compliance team.

At Motive, Philipp is responsible for the legal matters of Motive Ventures. Prior to joining Motive, Philipp was General Counsel at embedded/capital, a Berlin based early-stage financial technology investment firm, which was acquired by Motive Partners in February 2023, to form the early-stage arm of the Motive Partners platform.

Since 2017, Philipp worked for finleap and, as Head of Legal, he was in charge of corporate law matters related to finleap GmbH and its portfolio. Most recently, Philipp advised finleap in its exits of two notable portfolio companies: the majority acquisition of PAIR Finance by PollenStreet Capital and the sale of Penta to French competitor Qonto.

Philipp started his career as lawyer in 2010 at Taylor Wessing and later joined the Taylor Wessing corporate team for a spin-off to corporate boutique Lambsdorff. Philipp passed his state exams in law at the University of Cologne. In addition, he holds a PhD in business law and additionally a Master of Laws.
